The iPort control software enables the serial port of the iPort. It provides support for printing and file sharing over Localtalk. It also allows the selection between the iPort and infrared port. You cannot use both at one time. Finally it shows whether an external monitor is connected. This version of the iPort control software adds support for the use of Localtalk for both Appletalk and Localtalk printing. It can be used for file sharing and for printing to localtalk printer such as Apple LaserWriters. It also provides for the connection of external modems via Remote Access. In order to use iPort control you need an iMac with a Griffin Technology iPort video and serial card installed.
